Critical Illness InsuranceBenefit termsEach critical illness insurance benefit you choose can last for a different length of time. You can set up most benefits either on a fixed-term or a renewable-term basis. For example, you can have a 25-year fixed-term death benefit and a five-year renewable-term critical illness benefit – all within the same plan. A fixed-term benefit is one whose value is fixed for the whole period of the policy, a renewable benefit is one that only lasts for a shorter period but can be renewed at the end of the period - subject to underwriting.
