Our extended car warranty policy can cover most vehicles in the UK against mechanical breakdown. We can insure both new cars and used cars up to 10 years old, regularly serviced and less than 100,000 miles on the clock (50,000 for motorcycles). The premium depends on the type of car, level of cover, the annual mileage and the done mileage.
We can help you with our Respond car warranty contract covering the cost of mechanical breakdown repairs to your motor car, motorcycle or motor caravan leaving you to enjoy peace of mind motoring. There are no hidden catches no 'wear and tear, excuses, you can pay the premium over 12 months and even transfer the policy to the new owner if you sell your vehicle.
The extended warranty policy covers mechanical breakdown on private cars, motor caravans and motorcycles which:

are less than 10 years old | |

have less than 100,000 miles on the clock (50000 for motorcycles) | |
|
have been regularly serviced (must have had a service within the last 12 months) | |
|
are not on the excluded vehicle list or use list. |
This extended warranty is designed to cover the repair cost incurred as a direct result of mechanical, electrical and electronic breakdown for your car. It does not cover the repair or replacement of worn out components which have not suffered a breakdown: for example component fitted as a result of your vehicle being serviced or in order for it to pass an MOT test. It does not cover the repair or replacement of components which were faulty or had suffered a breakdown prior to the commencement of the policy - see below for a list of exclusions.
You are indemnified against repair costs up to the limit of the sum insured and cover level stated in respect of the components of your vehicle insured by the policy which require repair or replacement as a result of a breakdown occurring during the period of insurance whilst your vehicle is in the United Kingdom (60 days abroad).
There are THREE levels of cover

All mechanical, electrical and electronic components of the vehicle that were the manufacturer's original fitment except those listed below

Bodywork : All bodywork, trim, glass, paint, sunroof components, panels, wheels and tyres | |

Brakes : Brake discs and drums, brake pads and shoes, seized calipers | |

Clutch : renewal of any clutch components due to incorrect adjustment, misuse or general wear and tear | |

Contaminated fuel: the cleaning or unblocking of fuel lines, filters, carburettors, pumps metering units or idle speed control valves | |
|
Electrics: Batteries, fuses, wiring looms and connectors including making good corroded connections, in car audio systems or navigational systems, alarms and immobilisers not fitted by the vehicle manufacturer as original specification | |
|
Service items: Distributor cap, rotor arm, condenser, points, high tension leads, spark plugs, wiper blades, filter elements, bulbs, belts, antifreeze, fluids, grease, fuel or oils | |
|
suspension: shock absorbers | |
|
Miscellaneous: Burnt or sticking valves, eshaust manifold and gasket, exhaust pipes, catalytic converter, lambda sensor, drive belts, brackets, mountings, hoses, water ingress, cables.

Major oil leaks: oil leaks that necessitate the removal of
either the engine, gearbox or final drive unit to carry out the repairs
Components not coveredAny component not specifically mentioned is not insured. Also excluded are decarbonising, reseating valves and burnt out valves, allexternal linkages and kickstart, worn out or burnt out parts, final drive chain or belt, sprockets, rubber drive couplings and rubber gaiters and damage caused by impact or external corrosion

This insurance covers vehicle recovery to the nearest repairer following breakdown of any component of the vehicle covered by this insurance to a maximum of £100 including VAT per breakdown
If your vehicle is not repaired within 24 hours of its arrival at the repairer due to the breakdown of any components covered by this insurance which completely disables the vehicle and prevents it from being used the policy will pay up to a total of £50 (including VAT) per day for a maximum of 7 days towards the cost of hiring a similar vehicle. The 7 day period to begin not less than 24 hours after breakdown. Please note that the policy does not cover:

The policy will pay up to a total of £100 including VAT towards overnight accommodation on a room only basis incurred as a result of a component covered under this insurance
The territorial limits of the policy are extended for a maximum period of 60 days during the total period of the policy subject to the following:-

Claims may be reported at any time but are only processed on a Monday- Friday 9.00am - 5.00 pm. Should an incident happen outside this time an automated response service is provided and you may authorise repairs and claim back any payments retrospectively (subject to policy cover).

Loss or damage to your vehicle or any of its components caused by the use of incorrect fuel | |
