forces kit insurance - the cover

Our forces kit insurance provides new for old cover for your personal possessions and your kit anywhere in the world including transit. Cover is available for civilian clothing, military uniforms, valuables, personal possessions and service equipment on personal charge. We can also cover family property. Temporary issue is covered up to a limit of £500.00 per article.

Section A: Service equipment, Uniforms, personal possessions (Compulsory)

1. The full value of forces kit - Uniforms and Military equipment should always be included

2. For single members who do not qualify for Household contents cover, the full value of all Personal Possessions should be included.

3. Where household contents IS included the sum insured for personal possessions may be restricted to the maximum amount of civilian property taken out of the private residence at any one time.

Exclusions

• £50 excess

• mechanically propelled vehicles parts and accessories

• cleaning

• mechanical or electrical breakdown

• depreciation or consequential loss

• wear and tear for clothing, furs and household linen.

Section B: household contents

This cover is available for both families and single members living in married quarters or their own houses and provides new for old cover for accidental loss or damage for home contents in the UK or while on posting anywhere in the world.

Section C: frozen food - optional

Section D: personal accident - optional. Up to 10 units are available (2 for children)

This operates worldwide 24 hours a day.

Exclusions

1. existing medical conditions

2. drug abuse

3. suicide or attempt thereat

4. professional sportsmen

War risks ARE covered providing you joined 30 days prior to declaration. The insurance company will advise the date from which the section is not valid - as happened after the WTC and subsequent posting to Afghanistan.
