Damage - Extensions to landlord insurance

Typical extensions applying to material damage section of a landlord insurance policy

Examples

  1. Non Invalidation (If an unknown factor increases the risk the policy will not be invalidated provided the insurer is told immediately on discovery and an additional premium paid.

  2. Removal of debris

  3. Subrogation

  4. Landscaped Gardens (Damaged by Fire brigade in combating fire at the premises)

  5. Capital Additions (providing the insurer is notified and the additional premium paid).  There could be a limit of increase e.g. 10% or £250,000

  6. Loss of metered water

  7. Trace and Access

  8. Clearing of drains FOLLOWING Fire/ perils

  9. Access by workmen
