Standard Perils

    • Fire, smoke, lightning explosion and earthquake

Buildings cover extends to:

    • Accidental breakage to glass, sanitary ware, ceramic hobs in fixed units, and damage to underground cables and service pipes

    • Legal liability for £2,000,000 arising from ownership of property

    • Employers liability for £10,000,000 to domestic employees employed in connection with the property

    • Architects and surveyor's fees, additional cost of complying with Authority requirements, demolishing, shoring or propping up the damaged structure and up to 20% for loss of rent/ temporary accommodation if the property cannot be let following damage by one of the risks above

Main exclusions

    • £100 of any claim other than for subsidence, heave, landslip or liability

    • £1000 of subsidence heave or landslip claims

    • Property more specifically insured

    • Plants, living creatures, vehicles, boats, caravans + accessories/ spare parts

    • Wear/ tear, mechanical electrical breakdown, cleaning or repair or any wilful act caused by any persons lawfully on the property

    • storm damage to fences and gates

    • War, nuclear or 'sonic bang' risks

    • loss of market value

    • Liability other than as a landlord. (Liability arising out of domestic pets IS covered but excludes liability arising out of the Dangerous Dogs Act)

    • Theft/ malicious damage to Contents in garages/ outbuildings is limited to £1,000 any one claim / £2,000 in any one period of insurance

    • Electronic computer or computer software
