Permanent health insurance pays out benefits until a chosen age, unlike personal accident and sickness..

Permanent health insurance can help protect your standard of living - as benefits provided by the UK Government are small.

Permanent health insurance depends on several factors: Your age when you take out the permanent health insurance policy, Your sex, Your occupation, whether you want the benefits to be increased or static, and your age when the  policy ceases and also whether or not you are a smoker.

Your health insurance premiums could be reduced by taking an excess -  Common exclusion periods are 4, 8, 13, 26, 52 or 104 weeks. You could make up the gap with a  personal accident and sickness policy or an income protection insurance policy which can be extended to provide accident sickness and unemployment (ASU) insurance.
