Redwood Travel Insurance
Quotes for annual travel insurance over 70 are available. We rate travellers 65 or 0ver (up to 74) the same and offer differing rates depending on whether the longest trip is 31, 45, 61 or 93 days. A choice of four levels of cover offer cancellation cover up to £10,000, the option of unlimited medical expenses cover and exceedingly generous levels of personal effects (Up to £2,500 with a £750 single article/ valuables limit). The wide age-range, means that premiums are relatively low for the over 70s.
Family travel insurance cover is available, however we appreciate that once over 70 it is unlikely, though not impossible, for there to be qualifying children (aged 17 (or 23 in full time education)). Therefore the rates displayed are for single travellers as well as couples. There is no requirement for both partners to travel together, independent travel is permitted.
All premiums displayed include insurance premium tax (currently 20%) and are for travellers aged 65 to 74 on policy inception. Older travellers can obtain cheap rates and compare our other travel insurance premiums.

Existing Conditions can be covered
Once over 70, travellers are more likely to have existing conditions. A full definition of medical conditions is on the quotation page. Whilst it is not a requirement for travellers to disclose medical conditions, we strongly recommend doing so in order that they may be covered. Non-disclosure could result in substantial costs having to be paid. Travellers should be aware that the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) provides limited cover only and is hardly an adequate substitute for travel insurance. Cover is not available for travellers with a terminal prognosis.
Specific features on the policies
The annual travel insurance provides cover for trips up to 93 days. This far exceeds maximum limits on length of trips proffered by other travel insurance schemes, which are often limited to 31.
If you enjoy golf in your retirement, cover is available for golf equipment. We do recommend, however, that you consider including such cover in your home insurance as cover is likely to be 'new for old' rather than 'indemnity' (a deduction for wear and tear), which is standard in travel insurance.
Legal expenses is included in the standard annual travel insurance policy. However this does not extend to travel disputes e.g. with an airline, or tour operator. Travel Dispute cover extends to cover these circumstances. (Subject to terms and conditions)
