The premium for buy to let insurance depends on the tenancy agreement and the type of tenant. Below are some definitions and premiums for covering 100,000 rebuilding cost (assuming no no claims bonus, but including accidental damage and a 250 excess)

  • Standard Let : Tenancy agreement with tenant: rent may be paid by a third party. Insurers differ but for our best option the tenant can be unemployed or retired. 102.77

  • DSS Let: Tenancy agreement with the DSS who have control over the occupant : 146.65

  • Student Let: Homes occupied by students (could be bedsits), Typically each student only lives in for a year. 120.32

  • Asylum Seekers: Extends DSS lets to include homes occupied by Asylum Seekers: 124.71

  • Holiday Homes: (can be own use or let out) Buildings used for guests on repeated short breaks : 190.54

  • Bedsits: (Houses with shared facilities). 256.36
