Once you obtain your quote for travel insurance you can compare your

under travel insurance is produced) as well
as look at the policy summaries/ key facts document and the policy
wording.

Insurers (broker schemes) who we can look at (not all are
online)
-
Ageas Insurance
-
MMA Insurance
-
Ansvar
-
Rock Insurance
-
Towergate
-
BIBA scheme
-
Citybond
-
COE
-
PJ Hayman
-
Aviva Insurance
-
Sunworld Plus

Some of these insurance companies specialise in
different forms of insurance, which is why you must with travel insurance compare the products
- MMA insurance for instance only offer annual multi trip insurance policies,
whilst Ageas insurance rates are competitive for single trips as well as annual.
Similarly PJ Hayman insurance offer special schemes for long stay or student
policies. We use a bespoke quotation system to automatically compare the rates
- and then our experience to review cover.
We would therefore recommend that you
contact us on 0844 8262617 or, if you get no reply, our Gateshead office on
0844 8262618. Our staff are very experienced in the policies
offered by the insurers and are only too willing to make an effective
comparison of the rates and terms afforded by these travel insurance
providers. If, you want tesco insurance post office, direct
line insurance,
boots, churchilll, sainsburys , barclays or marks and spencer travel insurance
on the other hand you will have to take the time and effort to compare each one individually and decide whether the policy meets your
requirements and whether the policy cover is adequate - as well as review
their terms and conditions or excesses. And, of course, you do not get the
benefit of having a friendly insurance broker to help you should you need
it!

About Us
B Portwood & Co Ltd are brokers who are based in the north
East Of England - we have three offices in Gateshead, Bishop Auckland and Consett. Since we
were established in 1963 our aim has always been to treat our customers more than fairly and
ensure that they get the product and service that they want. Although we operate on the
internet, we feel that many people do not realise that the policy that they buy online
provides substantially worse cover than a product sold through a broker. Regrettably many
people do not compare cover until they have to make a claim - 'Only a fool or an expert should
buy online'. A final caveat
You are reminded always to disclose material facts when buying
any type of policy. A material fact is one that could affect the assessment of the risk. If
you are in doubt whether a fact is material you should disclose it as failure to do so could
invalidate your insurance policy.
